Find the zeroes of the following polynomial by factorization method: 2x2+72x+34.

Open in App
Solution

Factorise the given polynomial to find its zeroes

Given 2x2+72x+34

By splitting the middle term, we can write that

2x2+72x+34=2x2+62x+12x+34

Next, take the common terms out.

2x2+72x+34=2x(x+32)+12(x+32)

=2x+12x+32

The zeroes can be found as

2x+12x+32=0

2x+12=0 or x+32=0

x=-14 or x=-32

Hence, the zeroes of the polynomial are -14,-32.
