Given expression is $f (u) = 4 u^{2} + 8 u$
Let $4 u^{2} + 8 u$
$= 4 u (u + 2)$ .
Then, $f (u) = 0$ $⟹$ $4 u = 0$ and $u + 2 = 0$ .
