Question

Find the zeros of the polynomial 4x2-9.

Open in App
Solution

Factorise the polynomial 4x2-9=0:

Let the polynomial p(x)=4x2-9.

We know that, any real number 'a' is root or zero of polynomial px if and only if pa=0.

By using factor theorem, pa=0.

4a2-9=04a2=9a2=94a=±32

Hence, the required zeros of polynomial are +32,-32.
