Question

Find three different solutions for the following equations:
(i) 4x-7=0 (ii) 5y+6=0 (iii) 3x+5y=15

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Equation (1),
4x - 7 = 0 => x = 7 / 4 ( Ans. )

Equation (2),
5y + 6 = 0 => y = - 6 / 5 ( Ans. )

Equation (3),

3x + 5y = 15
Or, y = (15 - 3x) / 5

Putting x = 0, y = 15 / 5 = 3
Putting x = 1 , y = 12 / 5
Putting x= 5, y = 0

So, ( 0, 3 ) , ( 1 , 12 / 5 ) , ( 5 , 0 ) are three solutions of equation (3).
