To find whether the following series is convergent or divergent
1+25x+69x2+1417x3+.....+2n12n+1xn1
Here,
an=2n12n+1xn1

an1=2n112n1+1xn2
Also,
anan1=2n12n+1xn2n112n1+1xn1
limnanan1=limn2n12n+1xn2n112n1+1xn1

On applying limit, we have

limnanan1=x
Hence, if x>1, then the series is divergent
and if x<1, then the series is convergent
If x=1 then limnan=1
Hence, the series is divergent for x=1.
