Find $x$ , such that : (ii) $\frac{7}{- 4} = \frac{x}{8}$

Step 1 : Make the denominator 8 in the LHS
Given: $\frac{7}{- 4} = \frac{x}{8}$

$\Rightarrow$ $\frac{- 7 \times 2}{4 \times 2} = \frac{x}{8}$

[Mulitiply $2$ with both numerator and denominator to make the denominator $8$ ]

$\frac{- 14}{8} = \frac{x}{8}$ ............(1)

Comparing both sides of (1), $x = - 14$

Hence, the value of $x$ is $- 14$ .
