(a) between the points P and Q, and

(b) between the points X and Y.

(a) The resistance between P and Q can be found out by
$1 over R equals 1 third plus fraction numerator 1 over denominator 3 plus 3 end fraction 1 over R equals 1 third plus 1 over 6 R subscript p q end subscript equals 2 o h m s$

(B) The resistance between x and y is given by $R_{X Y} = 3 + R_{p q} + 3 = 3 + 2 + 3 = 8 Ω$
