$A \to 20 %, B \to 22 %, C \to 7 %, D \to 15 % and E \to 36 %$ .

(iv) Find the probability that either $A$ or $D$ will win the race

Probability of $A$ or $D$ wins is the sum of their winnings probabilities

$= 20 % + 15 %$

$= 35 %$

$= \frac{35}{100}$

$= 0.35$

Henc, the probability that either $A$ or $D$ will win the race is $0.35$
