Solution

Logical sequence for the path of light:

  • Cornea-Aqueous humour-Pupil-Lens-Yellow spot

Path of light in a human eye:

  1. The light reflected from an object first enters the dome-shaped cornea which helps to bend the light (refract) to focus it inside the eye.
  2. From the cornea, light enters aqueous humour which is the watery substance behind the cornea.
  3. Then light passes through the pupil which either constricts or dilates with the help of radial and circular eye muscles according to the distance of the light from the eye.
  4. The light then penetrates the lens which adjusts its size according to the intensity of the light entering.
  5. This light finally falls on the retina to form the image of an object.
  6. The central area in the retina is the oval-shaped yellow spot that increases visual acuity.
