Step 2: Mark the numbers on both the axes at equal intervals of 1 unit each.

Step 3: Start from the origin ‘O’ and move 3 units in the direction of that represents the negative x-axis. Then move 5 units up in the direction parallel to that represents the positive y-axis. Mark the point P. The coordinates of P will be . Thus, we get the representation of the point on the graph paper as shown below.

(ii) To locate the pointon a graph paper, we need to follow the steps below:

Step 1: On a graph paper, draw XOX and YOY, perpendicular to each other, and mark the origin ‘O’.

Step 2: Mark the numbers on both the axes at equal intervals of 1 unit each.
