  • A plant hormone to prevent wilting of leaves by the florist must be Ethylene. It is the hormone which controls wilting of leaves and ripening of fruits. It also stimulates shoot and root growth, flower opening, and leaf and fruit abscission.
  • Functions of Auxin : Cell enlargement, apical dominance, prevention from bending, promote xylem differentiation, healing of wounds of plants.
  • Functions of Gibberellin : It promotes increase in fruit size, inter-nodal elongation and seed germination.
