Solution

The correct option is C Factory 3 < Factory 1 < Factory 2
Quantity of paper produced by Factory 3 = 4.5 tons

∴ Quantity of paper daily produced by Factory 2
= 1.4 times the paper produced by Factory 3
= 1.4 × 4.5 tons

Calculating 1.4 × 4.5, we get:

Hence, Factory 2 produces 6.3 tons of paper a day.

Now, Factory 1 produces 0.9 times the paper produced by Factory 2.

∴ Quantity of paper produced daily by Factory 1 is 0.9 × 6.3 tons.

Calculating 0.9 × 6.3, we get:

Hence, Factory 1 produces 5.67 tons of paper a day.

Tabulating the quantity of paper produced by each factory in a day, we get:
Factory 1 5.67 tons
Factory 2 6.3 tons
Factory 3 4.5 tons

So, comparing all the quantities for all the three factories, we get:
Factory 3 < Factory 1 < Factory 2
