Solution

Step 1: Solve for mean to determine A’s average number of points scored per game

AveragenumberofpointsscoredpergamebyA=TotalpointsscoredbyAinallgamesTotalnumberofgames=14+16+10+104=504=12.5points

Thus, average number of points scored by A per game is 12.5points

Step 2: Identify for the required value

To find the mean number of points per game for C, we will divide the total points by 3 as C played only three games.

Step 3: Solve for the mean of B's score

MeanofB'sscore=TotalpointsscoredbyBinallgamesTotalnumberofgames

=0+8+6+44=184=4.5points

Thus, Mean of B's Score is 4.5points

Step 4: Identify the best performer

To determine the best performer among three players we have to find the average points of C

i.e. 8+11+133=323=10.67points

By observing the mean score of A, B and C, the average points scored by A i.e. 12.5 is more than that of B and C.

we can say that A is the best performer.

Hence,

  1. Average number of points scored by A per game is 12.5points
  2. To find the mean number of points per game for C, we will divide the total points by 3 as C played only three games.
  3. Mean of B's Score is 4.5points
  4. A is the best performer
