=72=3.5 m

W = unit weight of CC pavement in kg/cu.m = 2400
S = allowable working stress in steel in kg/sq.cm = 1400
Area of steel required (in cm2) per metre length
AS=3.5×1.5×0.2×24001400=1.8cm2m
