From the figure, we may consider the triangle ΔMQR. Here we get
MQR+MRQ+QMR=180
(90r1)+(90r2)+A=180
A=r1+r2 ----------(1)
Again from the figure, we can see that the incident ray after refraction is is bent by an angle say
θ1=ir1
Similarly, the refracted ray is bent by an angle say
θ2=er2
Hence total deviation, δ=θ1+θ2
δ=ir1+er2
δ=i+e(r1+r2) ----------(2)
From equation (1) and (2) we get,
δ=i+eA
i+e=A+δ
Hence the correct answer is option (A).
