For a trip with her family in Switzerland, Mary had booked a room in a hotel. She found that the hotel rooms are numbered in a particular fashion.

Solution

The first room number is 11AF.
The second room number is 12BF.
The third room number is 13CF.
The fourth room number is 14DF.

So, we see that the room numbers consist of a number pattern followed by a letter pattern.

The relationship can be shown as:

Number pattern:
The room numbers started with 11, followed by 12, 13, 14, and so on.

So, the seventh room will have the number 17.

Letter pattern:
The room numbers start with AF, followed by BF, CF, DF, and so on.

So, the first letter starts with "A", and "F" is common for every floor.

∴ The seventh room will have the pattern "GF".

So, the seventh room number will be 17GF.
