sinα+cosα
Multiplying and dividing by 2

Therefore
2(cosα2+sinα2)

=2(sinπ4cosα+cosπ4sinα)
...(sinπ4=cosπ4=12)

=2sin(π4+α)...(i)

Since 0<alpha<π2

Therefore equation i reaches its maximum value when sin(π4+α)=1

which implies
π4+α=π2
