Given a right angled triangle ABC, right angled at C with side lengths a,b,c as shown:


Now, for ΔABC
tanA+tanB=ab+ba

tanA+tanB=a2+b2ab

Now, from pythagoras theorem:
a2+b2=c2
tanA+tanB=a2+b2ab=c2ab
