Wavelength of first line in Balmer series 1λ1=R[1n211n22]

First line of Brackett series is obtained when a transition takes place from n2=4 to n1=5.
1λ2=R[142152]=9R400 ....(2)
Dividing equation (2) by (1), we get λ1λ2=9R/4005R/36=0.162
