The correct option is C 40
Cost of each pen = ₹2.40 = 2 rupees and 40 paise​
We know that 1 rupee = 100 paise​
So, 2 rupees and 40 paise = 2 x 100 + 40 = 240 paise​
Total cost of 4 pens = 240 x 4
= 960 paise​

Amount of money: ​
Given by Mona to the shopkeeper
= ₹10 x 100
= 1000 paise​

Amount of money:
Returned by the shopkeeper to Mona
= 1000 – 960
= 40 paise​
