(i) The chemical formula of Calcium oxychloride is CaOCl2 and its common name is bleaching powder.

Preparation of calcium oxychloride:

Calcium hydroxide and Chlorine react to form Calcium oxychloride and Water. The chemical reaction equation for the preparation of Calcium oxychloride is given below.

It is prepared from slaked lime, that is, Calcium hydroxide CaOH2.

One use of calcium oxychloride:
