Meiotic division in female plants forms three cells, of which one forms the egg cell and the remaining 3 degenerates to provide nutrition to the developing egg cell. So, 50 meiotic divisions will give 50 egg cells. And in the male gametophyte 52 gametes can be produced in 13 meiotic divisions.
