Among the animals given in the options, chimpanzees share the nearest evolutionary link with humans. The haemoglobin chains of humans and chimpanzees are identical, so there will be greater association of the hemoglobin chains synthesised by the researchers with the chimpanzee as compared to any other animals, supporting a species specific haemoglobin- chimpanzee RBC membrane interaction. Affinity of the synthesised haemoglobin would be more with the RBC of chimpanzees, as we are more closely related to chimpanzees in the course of evolution rather than with any other animals. It is most likely that this haemoglobin will be suited for humans keeping other factors in accordance with the physiology of humans.
