From the given circuit, we can observe that all three batteries are connected in a parallel connection across a and b.

Also, the internal resistance for battery E1 and E3 can be given as 2R1.

Redrawing the circuit,


Applying the grouping relation for parallel combination of three non-ideal cells,

Eeq=E1r1+E2r2+E1r31r1+1r2+1r3


Eeq=22+42+4212+12+12

Eeq=103=3.3 V

Here, 1req=12+12+12

req=23 Ω


There will be no current drawn from the equivalent cell because of open circuit.

VaVb=Eeq

or, VaVb=3.33 V

Hence, option (d) is correct.
