The correct option is C -6

Let roots of the given equation are a and a2.

Sum of the roots (a + a2) = - P/3 .........................(1)

Product of the roots (a)3 = 1 => a = 1

From equation (1),

1 + 1 = - P/3 => P = - 6

Alternatively: - 1, 1 be the roots. Eqn. becomes x2 - 2x + 1 = 0 or 3 x2 - 6x + 3 = 0.
