For the following arithmetic progressions write the first term a and the common difference: 5,1,3,7,....

Given Arithmetic progression (A.P) is
5,1,3,7,........

Hence the first term of the A.P is given by
a=5
And the common difference of an A.P is given by the difference of two successive terms .
(i.e.,d=an+1an)
Hence by putting n=1 in above expression we get
d=a2a1
Put a1=5 and a2=1
d=(1)(5)
d=(1+5)
d=4
