For the following circuit what is the potential difference between $X$ and $Y$?

$R_{eq}=\frac{6\times 6}{6+6}=\frac{36}{12}=3\Omega$

$i=V/R=4/3A$

Now i will be divided equally i.e. $\frac{2}{3}A$ and $\frac{2}{3}A$ in parallel.

Potential drop at $x=2\times \frac{2}{3}=\frac{4}{3}V$

Potential drop at $y=4\times \frac{2}{3}=\frac{8}{3}V$

$V_{x-y}=\frac{8}{3}-\frac{4}{3}=\frac{4}{3}V$
