For the pair of equation λx+3y+7=0 and 2x+by14=0 to have infinitely many solutions, the value of λ should be 1. Is the statement is true ? Give reasons.

Given : two lines λx+3y+7=0,2x+by14=0

It two lines a1x+b1y+c1=0 and a2x+b2y+c2=0 are having infinitely many solutions,

a1a2=b1b2=c1c2 should be there

So, we can write -
λ2=3b=714λ2=714λ2=12

So, λ=1

So, the given statement is not true.
