Solution

Resolving power:

It is defined as the inverse of the distance or angular separation between two objects which can be just resolved when viewed through the optical instrument.

Given, λ1=5000 A,Voltage=100V

For the light of wavelength 5000 A, Resolving power.

R=1d=2sinα1.22λdmin=1.22λ2sinα

λ=wavelength of light.
α=Angle subtended by the object
dmin=1.22×5000×10102sinα
For electrons acceralted through 100 V, the de-Brogile wavelength,
λ=12.27V=12.27100=0.12×109m

For the light of wavelength 0.12×109m, Resolving power,
dmin=1.22×0.12×1092sinα
Ratio of the least separtion,
dmindmin=0.12×1095000×1010=0.2×103

Final Answer: 2×104
