For the separation of red ink from blue ink a technique is used which is described below.

  3. A line is drawn at bottom of the paper strip and with the help of a capillary, the dots of the mixture is placed on the line drawn on the paper.(4)
  4. The paper having dots of red and blue ink is placed on the paper and the paper is then placed in the jar containing solvent.(5)
  5. The dots of the ink will move away from the drawn line and form spots at a certain distance from it.(1)
