Velocity of object, V0=+3m/s
Velocity of mirror, Vm=−1m/s
Velocity of object with respect to mirror, VOm=Vo−Vm =+3−(−1) =+4m/s
In the direction normal to the mirror, Relative velocity of image with respect to mirror is equal to Relative velocity of object with respect to mirror.VIm=−VOm⇒VIm=−(+4)=−4m/s
Let the velocity of image with respect to ground is VI.
Again applying concept of relative velocity,
VIm=VI−Vm
⇒VI=VIm+Vm
