Solution

The correct option is C Life is the result of relationship of molecules.
Abiogenesis of complex organic compounds, by interaction between simple molecules, in primitive sea was followed by formation of large spherical colloidal aggregates of macromolecules, the coacervates that remain suspended as droplets in sea water. Aggregation of fat molecules formed a coating membrane around each coacervate to hold the colloidal particles together thereby facilitating chemical reactions among them. Synthesis of nucleic acids and surface membrane transformed the coacervates into first living cells. Thus, synthesis of molecules does not mark the origin of life. Life originated by complex organization of these molecules that are under constant interaction in form of different chemical reactions. This makes option A incorrect with respect to given statement. Interaction of biomolecules is exhibited through the characteristic features of living organisms i.e. growth, reproduction, development, adaptation and responses to stimuli. This makes option B incorrect as the interaction between molecules is key to living organisms. The non-interacting molecules are non-living as is the case with viruses which are not considered living organisms owing to absence of metabolic reactions.
Thus, the correct answer is option C.
