Question

For three reactions of first, second and third order, k1=k2=k3, when concentration is expressed in mol/L. What will be relation among k1,k2 and k3 if the concentration is expressed in mol/mL?

Solution

R1=K1[A]K1=R1[A] [A] is in mol/lit

R2=K2[A]2K2=R2[A]2 & R3=K3[A]3K3=R3[A]3

Given: K1=K2=K3

R1[A]=R2[A]2=R3[A]3

Now if conc are in mole/mL
Then Replace [A][A]103
From the relation between K & R We get,

K1=K2×103=K3×106
