For what value of k will the following pair of linear equations have no solution?
2x+3y=1 and (3k1)x+(12k)y=2k+3

2x+3y=1 ....(1)
and (3k1)x+(12k)y=2k+3 .....(2)
The pairs of linear equations have no solution, if
a1a2=b1b2c1c2
23k1=312k
2(12k)=3(3k1)
24k=9k3
13k=5
k=513
Therefore, for k=513, the equations have no solution.
