Taking ′O′ as a reference potential. As current through $4{\Omega }^{\prime }$ is zero there should be no potential drop across it.


From fig.

$i=\frac{V}{R}$

$i=\frac{10-6}{2}=\frac{6-4}{R}$

$2=\frac{2}{R}$

$R=1\Omega$

Value of 'R' for this condition $=1\Omega$
Hence, option (b) is correct
