We have ${(x - y)}^{2} = x^{2} - 2 x y + y^{2}$
substituting $x = 2$ and $y = - 3$ we get
${(x - y)}^{2} = x^{2} - 2 x y + y^{2} {(2 - (- 3))}^{2} = 2^{2} - 2 \times 2 \times - 3 + {(- 3)}^{2} {(2 + 3)}^{2} = 4 + 12 + 9 {(5)}^{2} = 13 + 12 25 = 25 L H S = R H S$
