Option D is the correct answer because the statement is in the past tense as they’re talking about ‘yesterday’ hence it is correct to say that he ‘was’ working, as ‘was’ is the past tense of ‘is’
Option A is incorrect because ‘have’ is used with the past participle of other verbs to form present perfect or past perfect, so it would be correct if the statement meant, “I have been working since 10:15 ...”
Option B is incorrect because according to the explanation for option A, have been working should be followed by ‘since’ but the statement doesn’t mean that he’s been working since yesterday , so it is incorrect.
