The correct option is C xy=26 and x=3y, x=39 and y=13
Let the two numbers be x and y (x>y).

In question given that the difference between two number is 26.
xy=26 .......(i)
And the one number is 3 times of the other number
x=3y .......(ii)
Now putting x=3y in equation (1)
3yy=26
2y=26
y=13
Now substituting y value in (2),
x=3×13
x=39
Hence, x=39 , y=13
