Formation of Alluvial Soil-
Alluvial soil is formed by accumulation of sediments transferred by the rivers and rapids. This is one of the best and fertile soil deposited in river beds or by water following over flood plains. It generally lacks humus and nitrogen. Alluvial Soil is composed of alluvial deposits by the rivers, when they slowly loose their carrying capacity due to decrease in velocity. When the river slows down, it loses its potential to hold its particles and leave the large soil particles in a suspended state. Thus these particles settle on the river bed and form alluvial soil.
Formation of black soil.-
Black soil is formed as a result of volcanic eruption. When a volcano erupts, it releases hot lava which gradually cools down and and settle to form black soil. This soil is also known as regur and is very fertile for growing cotton.
