Solution

Let U be the set of all 43 persons
S be the set of all person who drink soup
T be the set of all person who drink tea
Given,
n(U)=43
n(S¯¯¯¯T)=18
n(¯¯¯¯ST)=8
n(¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ST)=5
Now,
n(ST)=n(U)n(S¯¯¯¯T)n(¯¯¯¯ST)n(¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ST)=431885=12
n(T)=n(ST)+n(¯¯¯¯ST)=12+8=20 people took tea.
