Relative growth is the growth of the organism per unit time, per unit initial parameter measured.

4 cells gave rise to 2000 cells in melon fruit. It means that 1 cell gave rise to 2000/4= 500 cells. This means that in melon fruit, 1 cell gave rise to 500 cells in an hour.
Also, in the cherry fruit, 1 cell gave rise to 500 cells in an hour. The rate of division of cells in both the fruits is the same when we take the initial parameter of 1 cell into account. Here, we can say that the relative growth rate of both the fruits is the same.
