The correct option is B 4.67 kgm2

Due to symmetry and equal dimensions, the moment of inertia of spheres A and C are equal about AC.

IA=IC=23mR2=23×1×(0.5)2=0.166 kgm2

Due to symmetry and equal dimensions, the moment of inertia of spheres B and D about AC are equal.

IB=ID=I0+m(a2)2=23mR2+ma22

=23×1×(0.5)2+1×222=2.166 kgm2

Total moment of inertia about the diagonal,

I=IA+IB+IC+ID

=0.166+2.166+0.166+2.166

=4.664 kgm2

Hence, (B) is the correct answer.
