When a body slides on a surface, frictional force between the surfaces in contact opposes its motion. This means that the body will travel the maximum distance on the surface opposing with least friction.

Since we know that one of the factors which affects the force of friction is the nature of surfaces, the wooden block will experience least friction on ice as ice has a smooth surface with minimum irregularities.
