Given, mass of each rod (m) =3 kg,
length of each rod (l)=2 m
Moment of inertia of rod AB about axis passing through its COM and perpendicular to the plane I=ml212
Using parallel axis theorem,
moment of inertia of rod AB about point 'O'
=ml212+m(l2)2
=ml23
As the system consists of 4 rods of similar type, by symmetry
Isys=43ml2=43×3×(2)2=16 kg-m2
