Let the first term and the common ratio of the GP be a and r respectively.

By question, a4=ar3=3.
a=3r3...(1)

Also, given that the product of the 3rd and 8th term is 243.
i.e., a3×a8=243
ar2×ar7=243
a2r9=243...(2)

Substituting (1) in (2), we get

9r6×r9=243.

r3=27r=3

a=3r3=333=19

a7=ar6=19×36=81

Thus, the 7th term of the GP is 81.
