Let the numbers be $x$ and $y$

Now, Sum is $21$

$\Rightarrow x+y=21$......................................(1)

and assuming that $x$ is the Larger Number

Putting $x-y=3\Rightarrow x=y+3$ in eq(1) we get

$\Rightarrow 2y+3=21\to y=9$

So, $x+9=21\to x=12$

Hence, the numbers are $9$ and $12$.
