From a waterfall, water pours down at the rate of 100 kgs−1 on the blades of a turbine. If the height of the fall is 120 m, calculate the power delivered to the turbine?
(Given g=10 ms−2)
120 kW
Given:
Mass m = 100 kg,
Time t= 1 sec,
Height h= 120 m and
Acceleration due to gravity g=10 ms−2.
Power=mght=100×10×120
∴ 100×10×1201s
Power = 120,000 watts = 120 kW
