From amongst 2000 literate individuals of a town, 70% read Marathi newspaper, 50% read English newspaper and 32.5% read both Marathi and English newspapers. Find the number of individuals who read
i) at least one of the newspaper
ii) neither Marathi nor English newspaper
iii) only one of the newspaper

From given data,
Total literate =2000
No. of Marathi news paper reader=2000×70100=1400
No. of English news paper reader=2000×50100=1000
No. of literates who read both English news paper reader=2000×32.5100=650
The relation is shown in the figure using vein-diagram.
i) There are 1750 literates are there who read at least one news paper.
ii)There are 250 literates are there who read neither Marathi nor English newspaper.
iii)There are 1100 literates are there who read only one of the newspaper.
