(ii) Pulley B helps to change the direction of applied effort in a convenient direction.

Mechanical Advantage of the combination of pulleys, MA = 2
Also, $M A = \frac{L o a d}{E f f o r t}$
Effort $= \frac{L}{M A} = \frac{20}{2} = 10 k g f$
