Here, the position of the particle during the time interval $0\text{s}$ to $4\text{s}$ changes from $0\text{m}$ to $10\text{m}$
Hence, Displacement covered
= final position - initial position
$s=10m-0m=10m$
We have,
Average velocity $=\frac{\text{total displacement}}{\text{total time}}$
Average velocity $=\frac{10\text{m}}{4\text{s}}=2.5{\text{ms}}^{-1}$
Hence, average velocity in first $4\text{s}$ will be $2.5{\text{ms}}^{-1}$.
